Todmorden Cricket Club’s next big social event - this time for general funds - comes later this month when members organise the 14th Todmorden Beer Festival.
It runs from September 19 to 21, with the Thursday session running from 5pm to 11pm, and the Friday and Saturday events running from noon to around 11pm.
Comedy and music duo Carl and Stu will be appearing in the Continental Tent on Friday and rock and blues outfit the Travelling Windleburys will play live in the main room on Saturday (bands on around 8pm to 8.30pm). Food is available at all sessions.
Ken Sutcliffe, of the organising team, said: “We’ve got 35 cask ales and six ciders in the main room, with two draught beers and a selection of bottled beers and wines available in the Continental Tent.
“This year we have got as many craft beers as we can from local breweries.
“It’s a very popular event and marks the end of the season. Some visitors come every year.”
The club’s camping area is expected to be solidly booked for the festival.
Entry is by £2 programme with tokens working out at around £1.40 per half pint. Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA members) are allowed in for free.
