Everyone’s favourite local radio DJ and one-time talk show host is back with a dramatic new saga involving a potentially violent siege.
But knowing Alan Partridge, there are bound to be twists and turns along the way.
Steve Coogan stars in ‘Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa’ (15) at Hebden Bridge Picture House from tomorrow until Monday (7.45pm) and next Thursday (10.30am).
With his radio station North Norfolk Digital taken over by a new media conglomerate, a chain of events is set in motion in which Alan has to work with the police to try and talk round disgruntled colleague Pat Farrell (Colm Meaney). Will Alan become a public hero or simply another footnote in the history of broadcasting?
‘The Lone Ranger’ (12), on Saturday at 1.30pm and Sunday at 12.30pm and 4pm, sees Johnny Depp star in a thrilling and fun action adventure.
And the varied programme continues to astound on Tuesday when there’s a live broadcast from the Royal Opera House, London, of Puccini’s musically sublime final opera ‘Turandot’ (adv 12A), at 7.15pm (doors 6.15pm).
‘Bachelorette’ (15) is screened on Wednesday and Thursday (7.45pm) while tonight there’s a chance to enjoy a mountain bike film night (8.15pm start).
