Would you like to come and join us for our talks and slide shows on a variety of topics, plenty about Todmorden’s rich history?
Our talks include glimpses into past styles of life, our wealth of buildings from humble dwellings to mansions, the fascinating lives of notable Todmordians, landscapes and influences on literature, transport development from packhorse tracks to railways, important local and national events, and places of historic interest further afield.
Our autumn programme begins on Tuesday, October 8, at 7.30pm in Todmorden Town Hall Court Room (entrance by the side back door in Bridge Street).
We are happy to welcome new members with an annual subscription of £20 or you may come along as a visitor paying £3 for an evening.

Our first meeting on October 8 will be by local archaeologist and member of our Society, Dr Angela Redmond, on “Digging Haworth – Archaeological Excavations of Haworth Churchyard”.
She will provide a fascinating insight into the previously unknown history of St Michael’s, uncovered last year during the first archaeological evaluation ever to be undertaken in Haworth’s famous churchyard.
