The third True Faith night will be held in Hebden Bridge on Friday, November 29.
Originally the two DJs involved, David Cooper and Mark Hodkinson, planned a one-off night of indie music from the 1980s and 1990s at Nelson’s in Crown Street but its popularity has prompted them to hold the event every three months. “The response has been fantastic,” said David. “People have been travelling in from all over the place, some even making a weekend of it.”
David and Mark were singer and guitarist respectively with Calder Valley band The Last Peach who, back in the early 1990s, supported the likes of Pulp and The Mock Turtles. “We’ve both remained massively into music,” said Mark. “It’s been great to play old classics mixed with new stuff that we’re both into.”
Bands and artists who will definitely get a spin on the night include David Bowie, The Cure, Talking Heads, The Stone Roses, Blur and Happy Mondays.
Previous True Faith nights have been held on a Saturday but this one has been changed to a Friday night with, as before, free admission. More details at www.facebook.com/tootruefaith.com
