Don’t be late for this very important date...
Well, several dates, in fact, as there is still time to add some wonder to your festive period with a new production of a classic tale.
And there is still time to submit entries for a com-petition which is linked to it.
Professional company Role With It Productions have teamed up with talented youngsters from the Helen Wilman School of Dance, which has classes in both Todmorden and Hebden bridge, to present their version of Lewis Carroll’s classic fantasy tale Alice In Wonderland.
The show opened last Saturday at the Birchcliffe Centre, Hebden Bridge, where further shows are being presented today and tomorrow at 7pm and on December 21, 22, 27 and 28 at 2.30pm and 7pm, giving as much chance as possible for people to see it.
Lisa Allen, from Role With It, which includes actors from the Hebden Bridge Town Hall based North of Watford agency, says they have set their version in Victorian Calderdale, with Alice being a mill girl.
Running alongside the production is a competition for under 16s, with several top prizes on offer, and there is still time to enter it.
The young people are being invited to email a picture of why the Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Todmorden areas are a magical wonderland to them.
Email your images to rolewithit@hotmail.co.uk by the closing date of Saturday, December 28, and you will be in with a chance of winning a prize!
These include a hamper from Something Sweet, a gift voucher from Silly Billys toy shop - and a set of beautiful “Alice” themed dolls specially made to celebrate the production by Made In The Valley craft artists.
The winners will feature in a New Year edition of this newspaper.
Hebden Bridge based Kreative Bomb and Lisa have worked together to create publicity artwork incorporating that town into the design, as seen above.
Tickets are available from Innovation, Hebden Bridge, or online at skiddle.com
