Parents are being reminded to finalise plans for their child’s education as the deadline for Calderdale’s primary school admission applications approaches.
The final deadline for primary school applications is Wednesday, January 15. After this date the chance of getting the preferred place is significantly reduced.
This year, for the first time, parents can apply for a place at the new through school at Halifax High.
From September, the school will accommodate children from the ages of four to 16.
The school will have a reception intake of 60 children in September 2014.
Coun Megan Swift, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, said: “It’s important that parents make sure that they have submitted their primary school application before the deadline of January 15 so they have the best chance of getting their preferred school.
“Calderdale primary schools have performed very well in the recent annual Ofsted report, and with the additional places now available at Halifax High, Calderdale really is a great place for education.”
