One of the upper Calder Valley’s most caring and versatile groups is in danger of calling it a day if it cannot find a pianist to play for them two hours a month.
Senior Moments Concert Party perform at Care Homes from Littleborough to Halifax with one of their three shows, giving three quarters to an hours entertainment at each venue.
Its aim is one concert a month but members meet for rehearsals fortnightly.
Spokeswoman, Rita Olley, who founded the group in 2008, said: “We need someone to play for us at the concerts - if they could manage a rehearsal now and again that would be fantastic but we are used to unaccompanied rehearsals.
“It’s when we come to doing the concerts we find it gets difficult.
“We are not a choir, we do sketches, dances, jokes, the lot.
“We already have bookings until June and we don’t want to let anyone down. Most of our venues require us to take our own electronic organ, which we have, All that’s missing is someone to play it.”
The accompanist would receive no payment, only the satisfaction from the joy they bring, she said. If you can help, ring Rita on 01706 819926.
