GIFTs are beginning to roll in for this year’s Hebden Bridge Toy Appeal which aims to distribute hundreds of goodies to disadvantaged families across the upper Calder Valley.
Co-ordinators Les Siddall and Samantha Binns are now receiving new and good-as-new items for youngsters and, while they have had a steady stream of toys, they’d be grateful for more items for teenage girls. And they wondered if Christmas shoppers taking advantage of special “buy one, get one free” or “three for two” offers on cosmetics might spare one of their purchases for the appeal. Gifts such as gloves or scarves are also welcome.
Donations, gifts and toys can be left with Les or Sam at Salem Community Resource Centre, Salem Street, Hebden Bridge, between 9am and 4pm on weekdays.
