With reference to the proposal for Ferney Lee Primary School it is obvious that the huge costs of running the building for such a small amount of children is detrimental to the budget available.
A purpose built single storey building with up to date modern facilities would be a much better option.
However, conscious of feelings regarding the heritage of the building, would there be any mileage in looking at the Edwardian part of the building for conversion to apartments similar to the work done on the old Halifax hospital?
A further bonus could be the completion of the half re-built wall by the ex-caretaker’s house which has been left since December 2012.
