A Calder Valley brother and sister duo will be taking on a marathon challenge to support a cancer charity.
Megan and Jacob Hill will be running in the Greater Manchester Marathon on Sunday, April 6, to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Megan chose to support the charity after one of her best friends, Richard Pover, whom she met at The University of Sheffield, lost his fight against cancer last year.
“The trust staff were outstanding in caring for Richard,” Megan said.
“As well as asking for donations, we have been spreading the word about men’s health and being constantly aware and routinely checking your body as young people are not invincible against the disease.
“The run is a serious challenge for me and Jacob.
“I completed the Sheffield Half Marathon in 2012 and Richard knew I was undertaking this marathon. It will be a hugely emotional day.”
