JACK’S House made a decent start to the new Rochdale Sunday Online Alliance Indoor League campaign - winning two and losing one of their opening four matches.
They were up against teams they would normally play in their usual division and finished the day in mid-table.
However, they have vowed to pull in extra playing resources for this weekend’s series after taking just six men to the five-a-side tournament and running out of steam.
Gary Brierley finished up as the leading scorer for Jack’s House and he said the tournament was a great experience.
“It was great and everybody really enjoyed it.” said Brierley.
“It is definitely a worthwhile thing to do and it works well because it meansd everybody can contunue playing when the weather is bad.
“We won the first two games and then drew the third - although in truth we should have won that.
“We only had six players while the other teams had 10 and as a result by the last game we were dead on our feet.”
Thomas Barnes certainly knew he had been in a game after giving himself a headache during the second match when his blasted shot from close range rebounded off the goal.
