The Grand Départ is still a few weeks away, and with the carnival atmosphere building, the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge is the place to be this weekend to celebrate the Cider World Cup - a two-day fiesta of international ciders, music, delicious food, and England’s first match live on the big screen.
The weekend’s summer cider festival has been put together by our local cider experts, The Real Cider Company, and runs at the Trades Club this Saturday and Sunday, 14th-15th June, from midday onwards.
Phil Kennedy, MD of the Real Cider Company, says, “We’re second to none in supporting Britain’s craft cider makers, but as it’s the World Cup, we decided to broaden our horizons for this year’s summer cider festival in Hebden Bridge. We’ve hunted down some fantastic continental ciders.
“We hope people will come and explore the diversity of cider and discover some truly special and unique flavours.”
As well as the football on Saturday evening, there will be live music on both days from bands including Creedy, Keefer, Brian Toberman, Deer Hare, The Good Intentions and the Tree Fellers.
Entry to the Cider World Cup is free and the Trades Club bar will be open serving the usual range of drinks. Food will be available throughout the weekend, provided by Lhamo’s Kitchen.
