There is a blank weekend in the Foster’s Halifax League this weekend, due to the Tour de France, and Bridgeholme can reflect on an excellent opening nine games.
The Eastwood side are seven points clear of Cullingworth at the top of Division Two, having played one game less than their main rivals, in their quest to regain the middle section status they lost last September.
Their latest victory was an anticipated derby success away to Old Town last Saturday.
Saj Mahmood’s seven for 36, which dismissed Old Town for 104, completed a good fightback from the visitors.
Bridgeholme had been wobbling on 106 for six but recovered to 238 for nine, Ollie Challis making 56 and Chris Kibble 47.
Mytholmroyd and Booth are second and third in the Premier, 10 and 13 points respectively behind leaders Jer Lane, after registering comfortable wins last weekend.
‘Royd had a 106-run home win over Copley. Seamers Ian Hartley (five for 51) and Toby Thorpe (three for 63) caused them some problems but Luke Sutcliffe (92) and Chris Overend (57) helped Mytholmroyd post 256.
Copley slipped from 75 for two to 90 for seven in reply, with Adie Gawthorpe taking four for 37, and Craig Taylor’s hard-hit 38 could only take the visitors up to 150.
Triangle won their first three games of the season but haven’t managed a success since and visitors Booth heaped more misery on them.
Triangle made 267 for seven, after a brisk opening stand of 87, but Booth knocked off the runs on a pocket-sized ground, an unbroken 109 run stand from Rick Laycock (74 no) and Richard Baigent (51 no) seeing them home.
Oxenhope lost the leadership of Division One to SBCI after crashing to a 122-run defeat at Queensbury.
Scott Osborne (70) and Jamie Priestley (41) propelled Queensbury to 150 for two after 22 overs.
Medium pacer Stuart Jackson (four for 73) and skipper Duncan Tetley (three for 41) applied the brakes to the scoring and restricted Queensbury to 219 for eight.
A tremendous opening burst from Matthew Johnson (four for 37) reduced Oxenhope to 53 for six.
Only Craig Bartlett (37) showed any form and after a short break for rain, Oxenhope were dismissed for 97.
It was a bad day for Luddenden Foot, who are being sucked into a relegation battle after a 119-run defeat to bottom side Clayton.
Clayton made 239 for six and Foot slumped from 85 for two to 120 all out in reply.
