The Grand Northern Ukulele Festival, which will be held at Huddersfield Town Hall on September 12 and 13, is organised by Hebden Bridge co-directors Mary Agnes Krell and Tony Casey,
They are looking to bring ukelele players from all over to the event, building on the success of last year’s debut festival, which was held at Pontefract.
As a warm-up to the festival proper, there is an event pre-gig today, August 7, at Vinyl Tap, Huddersfield, which is the record store opposite Huddersfield Railway Station, at 5pm.
It will feature Lancashire-based ukelele outfit Chonkinfeckle and will be fiollowed by a flashmob at 5.30pm and then a gig by Dead Man’s Uke at the Head of Steam pub at Huddersfield Railway Station.
