Booth will be hoping to continue their winning ways in the Foster’s Halifax League Premier Division when they travel to Bradshaw this weekend.
Third-placed Booth banked eight points from a 59 run success over Copley last Saturday in a game where both sides lost two overs due to the weather.
Ian Hartley proved a thorn in Booth’s side as he went on to record impressive figures of five for 94.
However, Richard Laycock found the boundary on numerous occasions before he gave Hartley a return catch after making 80.
John Potkins then speeded things up with 47 from 23 balls as Booth totalled a more than useful 253 for seven.
Copley made a decent start with Toby Thorpe (49), Chris Dennison (30) and Oliver Thorpe (40) making good contributions.
However, they were never able to get away as Laycock (three for 37) and Nigel Horsfall (two for 29) restricted them to 194 for six.
Luddenden Foot will have their work cut out getting a positive result from their visdit to Division One leaders SBCI on Saturday.
However, they will go into the game carrying some hope after they ran second-placed Queensbury close last week before falling to a 12 run defeat.
Queensbury reached 213 to pick up nine valuable points with Foot having to make do with six after seeing their challenge ended on 201 for eight.
There is a top v second clash in Division Two where leaders Bridgeholme take on Wibsey Park Chapel.
Bridgeholme strengthened their hand at the top with a two wicket success over fading Cullingworth.
C ullingworth struggled to get out of first gear and after falling to 65 for six they eventually finished with an under-par 125 for seven.
Bridgeholme did not have things all their own way and were grateful to opener Bobby Fielden’s half century as they limped home having also lost a number of wickets cheaply.
Wibsey Park Chapel took advantage of Cullingworth’s defeat to tuck in behind Bridgeholme following an eight wicket win over rock bottom Old Town.
Old Town were restricted to 121 which Chapel passed with ease.
Rick Laycock played a captain’s innings as the Halifax League lifted the Nixon Trophy following a comprehensive 132-run success over their Huddersfield Central League counterparts on his home Booth ground.
Laycock top scored with 77 as the Halifax League rattled up an impressive 296 for eight. He then retuned with the ball to devastating effect as the visitors were humbled for 164.
Huddersfield won the toss and put Halifax in. Openers Toby Thorpe and Chris Dennison, who opened the batting for Copley in their Parish Cup success, made a steady start before the innings really picked up.
Halifax then put bat to ball in emphatic fashion late on with 41 runs coming off the final three overs.
Laycock bashed out six sixes and five fours in his 77 while Ross Soames and another Booth player, Patrick Thomas, assisted in the late onslaught to give Huddersfield plenty to think about.
Josh Hutchinson enjoyed a tidy opening spell as Halifax set about the task of defending their total.
He went on to record fine figures of three for 30 before Laycock took centre-stage claiming three for 33.
Chris Shannon, the third Booth player in the side, had two victims including the scalp of Huddersfield danger man H. Patel, who had started to swing the bat, Ross Soames producing a brilliant catch to end the batsmen’s resistance on 35.
