There was another successful opening evening at Platform one Gallery on Friday, September 5.
The two artists Catherine Giorgio and Jack Jarman and invited quests enjoyed celebrating the launch of their exhibitions.
Catherine moved from Todmorden to central London a year ago and decided to record her first year there through art, exploring her new home and new methods of painting to create a wonderful body of work called My Year In The City. The results are vibrant showing a love of our capital city using colour and line to express the amazing beauty and life she saw around her.
Jack’s work is a fantastic collection of landscapes in watercolour, some local scenes and some from farther afield, he captures the many moods of nature and uses a skilful understanding of light to enhance his pictures. Also on display is a variety of jewellery by gallery members Anne Pearson and Janet Brear.
The exhibition runs to the end of September. Gallery opening times are Thursdays to Sundays 11am to 4 pm. Artists are invited to book a board at the art groups open exhibition in Todmorden Town Hall at the beginning of November. Call at the gallery or send a stamped addressed envelope to the gallery.
