Enjoy a good ghost story?

Then a free event at Hebden Bridge Library - and one which features a Booker Prize shortlisted author in Alison Moore in the line-up of authors - should be right up your street.

Ghost Stories: Poor Souls’ Light takes place on Saturday, December 13, at 6.30pm. You need to reserve your place in person at Hebden Bridge Library or by calling (01422) 288040 or emailing Hebden_Bridge.Library@calderdale.gov.uk

The event features Christmas ghost stories by Jenn Ashworth, Richard Hirst, Man Booker shortlistee Alison Moore and Emma Jane Unsworth, with mulled wine and mince pies.

The organisers do warn this event is not suitable for people under 13 years of age.

The writers are promoting their anthology of Christmas ghost stories. Poor Souls’ Light: Seven Curious Tales was published by Curious Tales on December 1 in a limited edition of 500 copies (£8 each), signed by the authors who are undertaking a tour of the north and midlands to promote their work, including the Hebden Bridge date.

You can read more at http://www.curious-tales.com/press.html - and you can also buy the book from the site. Jenn Ashworth says: “What better way to enjoy a ghost story than in a traditionally bound, limited edition, rare book?”
