A coffee morning and bring-and-buy sale held by Todmorden RNLI Guild in Walsden recently raised a staggering £725 for the two-hour event.
More than 70 people attended and they included the Mayor of Todmorden, Councillor Michael Gill and the Mayoress, Mrs Nikki Gill.
This follows a highly successful RNLI Flag Day earlier in the year when the people of
Todmorden again showed their generosity by donating almost £1,700 to the cause.
Mrs Pam Birkett, Chair of the Todmorden Guild, said “It really is a fantastic effort. I wish to offer my sincere thanks to all the people who attended and helped make it such a success, with special thanks to the generous raffle prize donors – particularly Gordon Riggs”.
Todmorden RNLI Guild is always looking out for new members. If you are interested, or would like to know more, call the secretary, Heather Blenkey, on 01706 818527.
