Crossley Swifts U8s 2
Todmorden Athletic U8s 2
High above Halifax, on a wind and hail-swept pitch at Mixenden, Todmorden were soon a couple of goals down as they failed to cope with Crossley’s clever long-ball tactics.
However, they adapted well and did everything but score. Jack Suthers was just over the bar with one shot and then another hit a post.
Frank Cooper dominated the left but his shots and crosses were blocked by a resilient Crossleys defence.
Dan Adams was confident in goal, keeping a clean sheet in the second half, but it was easy to lose count of the shots on goal from Bailey Sutton, who eventually broke through on the 32nd minute.
Three minutes later the scores were level thanks to some fine tackling from Euan Logue which led to a perfect strike from Freddie Priestley.
