Hebden Bridge Light Opera Society members are keeping very busy with last-minute rehearsals for their annual spring show, which this year is to be “Brass & Song!” presented in close collaboration with Hebden Bridge Junior Band.
An evening of varied music, combined with song, dance and laughter, the all-round entertainment will be directed by Eileen Horner, president of the society.
Neil Robinson will conduct the Junior Band on stage, and amongst featured singers are Gerry Wheatcroft, Anne Woodhouse and Phoebe Smith. Ian Moorhouse, too, will be making another welcome appearance.
Helping Eileen to get the show on the road are well-known local comedian David Williams as compere, musical director David Root and choreographer Angela Marshall of Halifax-based Miss Angela’s School of Dance and Performing Arts.
“Brass & Song!” is staged at the Little Theatre, Holme Street, Hebden Bridge, from Wednesday, March 18, to Saturday, March 21, at 7.15pm, with a matinee Saturday at 2.15pm. Tickets are £10 adults, concessions £8. On Saturday night all seats are £10.
