Todmorden fire crews were called to a moorland blaze in Huddersfield covering an area of 400 hectares.
Along with firefighters from Holmfirth, Huddersfield and Elland, they spent over four hours tackling the fire on moorland in Marsden off New Hey Road from 12.25pm on Saturday.
Firefighters from Todmorden assisted using specialist off road units and high powered back pack blowers to prevent the fire from spreading.
The fire began after a controlled burning by Marsden Moor National Trust estate’s team, who had begun a deliberate fire to burn off old heather and other plants, got out of hand.
