James Rawlinson is set for his first full season in charge of Walsden’s first team this summer.
The opening batsman, who took charge when league-winning skipper Chris Dewhirst stood down in the early stages of the 2014 campaign, has been reappointed at the Central Lancashire league club.
All-rounder Nick Barker will again be his vice-captain.
The Scott Street club will have a new second team skipper in Paul Marrow.
The experienced batsman, who has also played at Littleborough and Todmorden, takes over from Stuart Hanson.
Hanson has had a very successful spell at the helm and will be there to support Marrow as his deputy.
The delay in announcing this year’s skippers is believed to be because Walsden were waiting for Marrow to see if he could do the job alongside his work commitments.
Walsden hold their cricket AGM and senior presentation at the club tonight (Thursday).
Meanwhile, they have been encouraged by reports of their returning overseas amateur, Shubham Harkal, making a couple of big scores back home in India.
