A suspect who tried to escape by running into a sewage plant was arrested on suspicion of theft and driving whilst unfit through drink/drugs.
Officers arrested the 36-year-old man on suspicion of theft of a vehicle following an incident at Wakefield Road outside the sewage works in Copley on Saturday evening.
A number of officers attended in order to arrest the man who ran off into the sewage works and were assisted by Elland fire crews to gain entry into the premises.
