The task of sucking out silt from Grove Lodge is proving a bigger task than thought.
Barratt Homes started on the project last Wednesday - a day later than planned. Work continued on Thursday and was recommencing after Easter.
A massive amount of silt was deposited into the water just before Christmas and more last week on Monday night.
The culvert/pipe which takes the water down to the River Roch is not big enough to take flood flows.
Day tickets are now available for the club’s entire section of the Rochdale canal, from Callis (lock 13) through to Castleton Lock (lock 51).
They must be bought before fishing from local tackle shops at £5 per day. One rod only allowed and no keepnets.
Day tickets are also valid on Cliviger Fishponds and Grove Lodge.
