A number of fundraising events are under way to raise money for the family of a Todmorden man who was tragically killed in March .

Businessman Wayne Stansfield was much-loved in his home town, with a thousand people lining the streets when his funeral was held at St Mary’s Church in April.

Wayne, who was 48, died when he was hit by two cars as he crossed Halifax Road, Todmorden, on March 15.

A Wayne Stansfield Memorial Appeal Fund has been set up for Wayne’s family and among fundraising initiatives, ongoing sales of a postcard featuring the Stansfield family’s butcher’s shop on Halifax Road, Todmorden.

Wayne’s wife Lisa had originally commissioned artist Bob Follen to craft the card as a Christmas present and Bob made a batch of the cards some months ago.

Following Wayne’s sad passing he decided to donate all the proceeds from the cards to Wayne’s family, with the money either going towards them directly or to a charity of their choice.

Bob said: “It is really a ‘donate what you feel’ project with the ideal minimum donation per card being £1.50.”

You can buy the cards from the J. T. Stansfield and Sons shop where Wayne worked with his brother Sean and dad James, from Todmorden Post Office, Bramsche Square, from Todmorden Information Centre, Burnley Road, from the Duke of York, Halifax Road, Todmorden, from Kaffe 53, Halifax Road, from MY Gallery, Mytholroyd, and from Bob’s own Bob Art Models - for the latter see his Facebook site www.facebook.com/bobartmodels or email bobartmodels@gmail.com
