Chris Thornesby won the Rive Rocks Centenary competition at Todmorden GC on Saturday.

Thornesby won with 39 points, beating club president Steve Packer on count back. Club Captain Pete Bailey’s efforts on the practice ground paid off with 38 points for third.
The player of the year league table is shaping up nicely, with a dozen or so players in contention. The focus now switches to Saturday’s Club Championship played over 36 holes.
Todmorden finished sixth and Hebden Bridge 18th out of 23 teams in Sunday’s Halifax-Huddersfield Union Handicap Team Championship at Dewsbury on Sunday. Willow Valley won.
