Get your ticket for a ringside seat at one of the best one-day agricultural shows in the north - it’s a perfect day out for all the family.

Todmorden Agricultural Show, which is staged this Saturday, June 20, uses every centimetre of the Centre Vale Park, Burnley Road, Todmorden, showground to offer visitors super value for money.

It will take you all day to thoroughly investigate all the showground - the park is set in a beautiful bowl - has to offer.

Although there is far more to the event than the animals themselves, there is no dount that they are the real stars of the show!

It really is a case of all creatures great and small as ferrets, rabbits, bantams, cockerals, cavies and dogs - including fun competitions - have their moment in the sun alongside the majestic “big beasts” of the event - cattle rippling with muscle, sheep with superbly groomed fleeces, lovely goats and a full day’s entertainment with the magnificent horses in the main ring.

This year the sheep section is full to capacity with some breeds of native and primitive sheep appearing for the first time, including Castlemilk Moorits and Shetland Sheep. New to the native section are Whitefaced Woodland and North Country Cheviots. Trophies will be presented to the winners at 3pm by Show chairman Ben Bracewell

On top of that there are arts and crafts created by local people and vistors filling the handicrafts tent, vintage vehicles to let your eye rove over, plus the best in food and local growing in the Incredible Edible tent.

A special word of congratulations this year for the children’s pet show, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary and allows local children to display their pride of and knowledge about their animals.

Throughout the day there will be lots of eye-catching entertainment in the events ring.

You can also find out about a whole range of community groups who will be there to talk to you about what they do.

And don’t forget to bring a shopping bag - with a packed to bursting trade stand and stalls area there will be lots to discover if you enjoy a good shop of a Saturday, and plenty of cuisine of all kinds to tempt your tastebuds too.

And when you’re ready to take a break, soak up music being played in front of the bandstand in the park’s miniature ampitheatre.

Todmorden Agricultural Show really does think of everything.

It’s just the ticket!
