The founder and managing director of a communications agency has taken up a new role with an educational organisation.
Nick Howard, of Limehouse, has joined the Leeds Enterprise Centre as an advisory board member.
Nick, of Cragg Vale, joins a number of enterprise specialists who will provide students with real world experiences and develop their entrepreneurial spirit.
Having a long history with Leeds University - he was a student there from 1999 until 2002 and an enterprise scholar in 2008 - Nick is keen to give back to his local community.
“Being able to offer current students advice and support is part of our work ethic,” he said.
“It is a good two-way experience because the students have a chance to work as part of the team and figure out where their skills fit in, and we get to engage with young people who offer a fresh perspective.”
The new role for Nick, 32, follows on the heels of him being named the Yorkshire Post’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012.
“When you just do something because you believe in the business and enjoy what you do, to then get an award as a by-product of it is humbling,” he said.
