Are you a voluntary or community group in the health and well being field looking for funding or advice and assistance?

Voluntary Action Calderdale and The Community Foundation for Calderdale are holding a Health and Well Being Showcase and Funding Fair on Wednesday, February 27 at The Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, Halifax.

The fair is a drop-in event between 9am and 4pm and provides an opportunity to see and hear from the organisations who are running projects funded from the Grants for Health and Well Being Programme in 2012-13.

The Grants For Health and Well Being Programme is a partnership between the Community Foundation for Calderdale, Voluntary Action Calderdale and the Calderdale NHS. Twenty-six projects are being supported that are working to improve and make a real and sustained difference to people’s health locally.

There will be displays from many of the funded projects, in addition to presentations from four projects about their work and workshops throughout the day looking at health and well being and the impact of NHS changes from different perspectives including gender, BME communities and disabilities.

This will be a chance for you to hear from VCS organisations involved service delivery in these areas and a chance for you work through the implications for your organisation and think about how you engage with the NHS and different sections of the community.

There will also be a Fit 4 Funding Workshop on funding sources for Health and Well Being groups.

Exhibitors will include funders and advice agencies such Big Lottery Fund/Awards for All, Calderdale Council Small Grants, Charity Bank, Children in Need, Community Foundation for Calderdale, Fit 4 Funding, Key Fund, Lloyds TSB Foundation, Locality (Social Enterprise), Local Giving and West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service (WYCAS).

Lunch and refreshments are available throughout the day.
