It all went wrong for Brighouse Town in the closing moments of last night’s first home Northern Premier League match of the season.

Visitors Ossett Town grabbed a winning goal one minute into added time and home defender Chris Fisher was red carded shortly after.

Town’s 2-1 defeat means they have one point from their opening two First Division North games, having drawn 2-2 at Trafford on Saturday.

The Hove Edge outfit will look to get off the mark at home to Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday.

Town fell behind to a David Brown goal after only three minutes.

Ryan Hall hit the bar and Ernest Boafo had an effort palmed away by the ‘keeper as Brighouse searched for an equaliser.

It eventually came on 36 minutes when Boafo went through and the ball broke to Steve Hollingworth, who made no mistake.

It was deadlock in the second half until Nathan Curtis came up with Ossett’s late winner.
