Tuesday game brings problems for United

Woodhouse United are due to be in action next on Tuesday away to FC Players (6.15).

It is a key match for two sides battling to preserve their first division status in the Rochdale Sunday League and the timing of the match is far from ideal for Woodhouse.

Boss Marc Walters had wanted to play the game on Easter Sunday because Woodhouse have several players who work shifts.

“It is far from ideal on Tuesday. We will just have to go with what we have got,” he said.

In the Rochdale Online Alliance, Jack’s House travel to play Balderstone seconds in Division One on Saturday.

Hollins Holme face a crucial few days in their promotion quest in the first division of the Bridge Balti Halifax Sunday League.

The top three sides normally go up and Hollins occupy third place, although they have dropped points recently.

They host Bradshaw at Calder Holmes on Sunday and return to action at the same ground against Waiters Arms on Tuesday.

Bradshaw beat Royd Club recently but have generally struggled this season, Waiters, however, are top and look certain to be champions, having yet to taste defeat.

Relegation-threatened Royd Club have no game on Sunday but travel to Shroggs Park to play Queens Head on Sunday.

In Division Two, Stubbing Wharf play King Cross Park at Savile Park on Sunday but Hebden Bridge have no games over the Easter weekend.
