A group of more than 20 upper Calder Valley artists will be going potty when they hold their annual end-of-year exhibition.

The sculptors will be showing their ceramics work at the Pop-Up Pots exhibition held in the former Arts Festival shop on Albert Street, Hebden Bridge, from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, June 29, Sunday, June 30, Saturday, July 6, and Sunday July 7.

The exhibitors are students from the Back Door Ceramics Group at Northlight Studios in Hebden Bridge, led by tutor Sue Turner along with former students now working from Brier Hey Pottery, Mytholmroyd.

Sue said: “While most of the work is fired in a conventional electric kiln, some pieces produced by the Raku method, first developed in Japan, will be on display. From substantial to fine and delicate, from figurative to abstract, Pop-Up Pots has something to delight everyone. What’s more, most of the work is for sale.

“The exhibitors are grateful to Setbray Properties and Hebden Royd Town Council for their support.”
