Rail users are facing disruption this morning (Tuesday) after lightning damaged equipment between Halifax and Leeds.
Northern Rail has announced that trains are running at reduced speeds on some lines.
There is also slow traffic on the M62 westbound between junction 26 at Chain Bar and junction 24 at Ainley Top, and on the M62 eastbound between junction 25 at Brighouse and junction 26 at Chain Bar.
Motorists are being advised to take care on the roads, with the possibility of further heavy thunderstorms as the day progresses.
