Todmorden Market Futures steering group has thanked the public and traders for contributing to recent conversations about the future of the markets.
Almost 500 responses were received and the raw data is now being collated for inclusion in a report. The steering group has commissioned research into market operating models elsewhere and aims to have this available by the end of October.
The steering group thanked Coun Barry Collins, Calderdale Council portfolio holder for economy and environment, and Ian Gray, Calderdale Council director of regeneration, for attending August’s steering group meeting
Steering group chairwoman Kate Moreton-Deakin said: “The conversations with members of the public have clearly demonstrated how much the people of the town appreciate the markets and how important keeping them at the heart of the town in the future is to many respondents.”
