A new exhibition of work by well known local artist Jack Jarman will be opening at Calder Creative’s Gallery today, Friday, September 27.

Jack is a well known, local, watercolour artist who has exhibited in Todmorden Art Group exhibitions at Todmorden Town Hall and has also had solo exhibitions.

He can be found manning Platform One gallery at Todmorden station most weeks, and has work exhibited in the White Hart.

He also runs watercolour classes and is well known within the local art world.

Also on show at the exhibition is pottery from the Sylvia Aldworth Collection.

Sylvia describes herself as “The Occasional Potter” and this is the first time that a sizeable collection of her work has been exhibited for sale at the same time.

There will also be a collection of superb scarves and shawls hand made by the south Pennines felter Margaret Howarth.

Again, the first time that this talented felter’s work has been for sale locally.

The preview night will be on Friday, September 27, from 7pm until 9pm.

The gallery will then be open Saturdays from 10am to 1pm and every Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am to 4pm. The exhibition runs until Saturday, October 19.

The Autumn Exhibition can be viewed at The Gallery, Calder Creative (Bespoke Picture Framing), Unit 2, Hazelwood Works, Hazelwood Street (opposite Lidl supermarket, just off Halifax Road, Todmorden).
