Todmorden Borough will hope to take to the field for the first time in more than a month on Saturday when GSK Ulverston Rangers are the visitors.

Borough last played in a 4-2 win at Ladybridge on January 18 and had no fixture last Saturday.

Only one game in the whole of the West Lancashire League’s five divisions went ahead five days ago and Ladybridge were again the losers, going down 4-0 at home to Leyland United.

Borough were in good form before their long break, their successes including a 2-1 win at Saturday’s rivals when they finished with nine men.

Ulvertson remain second, 16 points behind Askam United from five games fewer, and they will be desperate for revenge this weekend.

Borough trained on Tuesday and could be without five players on Saturday.

Jim Hardman and Chris Kay have been unable to serve suspensions while Stevie Barker and Lee McGrath are unavailable and Dave Patrick is a doubt with an injury sustained at training last week.

Elliott Gilford may have to deputise for McGrath in goal and his father, team boss John, said Borough would “mix and match” to plug the other gaps.

Gilford senior reports the pitch in good condition but was worried by a poor forecast for Thursday and Friday.

Todmorden’s reserve side travel to Croston Sports Reserves.

Walsden C & FC, beaten 3-2 by Balderstone in their last game three weeks ago, are due to host another leading side, Oldham Borough, in the top section of the Rochdale Online Alliance on Saturday.

Rochdale Sunday League side Woodhouse United are without a game again this weekend.
