Todmorden town councillor Margareta Holmstedt is hoping to defend the Calderdale Council Todmorden ward seat for the Liberal Democrats at this year’s May 22 election.
She is hoping to take the place of Lib Dem Coun Ruth Goldthorpe, who is standing down.
Margareta said she has served on the Town Council for much of the 44 years she has lived in the town and was Town Mayor in 2011-2012.
Before retiring, she ran the European Briefing Unit at Bradford University and she had been a lecturer at the university.
