Throughout this term, Year 10 students in Mr Ferris’ resistant materials class have been working on a project for the Ewood Centre.
The students visited the Ewood Centre at the beginning of their project to discuss their requirements for some new furniture.
The students took away a brief and created some prototypes to ensure that they were the right size and fit for purpose.
The furniture included a coffee table, a shoe rack, a paper storage unit, a puppet theatre, notice boards and a cookery book holder to name just a few.
The student have worked really hard as a team to create these really high quality pieces of furniture and this has included working through lunchtimes and staying after school, on some days as late as 6pm!
They really have taken a huge amount of pride in what they have created.
Mr Ferris commented: “The project has really brought the class together and they have worked so well as a team and encouraged and inspired one another.”
