Incredible Edible Todmorden (IET) has called a public meeting about the possible asset transfer of the market hall and surrounding land to a locally run interest company.
IET is inviting people to attend the meeting at Todmorden Town Hall on Thursday, December 13, at 6.30pm and give their views on the proposal.
Estelle Brown, from IET, said: “More than two years ago Incredible Edible called a public meeting where the importance of creating an edible green route throughout town and the asset transfer of the market hall to a local interest company was unanimously supported.
“Two years on and we have the green route, but no action around the market hall.
“We are therefore ready to call another public meeting.
“After a presentation of what we have been doing for the last four years, we will hear what’s been happening in nearby Whitworth, where the market is run by the community and is a great success.
“Also presenting is Locality, an organisation with a close working relationship with Calderdale, and who supported the asset transfer of the town hall to a community based company.”
