Jack Oldfield won the latest annual Mick Ashman memorial darts competition played on successive Monday evenings at the Railway pub in Hebden Bridge.

Thirty two players battled it out and Oldfield and Chris Carlins made it through to a best-of-five final.

Carlins won the first but Oldield took the next three to take an unbeatable 3-1 lead.

There was £20 to the winner and £10 to the runner-up but, more importantly, Oldfield got to choose a charity to receive the entry money and proceeds from a raffle.

He chose Help for Heroes, which will receive £250.

Andy Hayden, who runs the competition in memory of his friend Ashman, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who took part and helped to make the event a great success.”
