Todmorden Town Council are inviting people to nominate their unsung community heroes and heroines for the Citizenship Award for Todmorden 2015.
The council is asking members of the public to put forward people who make a difference in their local community.
Nominations can include individuals, couples and groups or societies who work tirelessly for different charities or organisations.
This will be the sixth year that the Town Council has made the Citizenship Awards, and its Awards Sub-Committee are looking forward to receiving nominations, and to having to make difficult choices as to the winners for 2015.
Application forms are available from the Town Council office at Todmorden Community College, Todmorden Information Centre, and at both Todmorden and Walsden Libraries, and can also be downloaded from council’s website at www.todmordencouncil.org.uk
Applications must be returned to the Town Clerk no later than Friday, February 13, 2015.
All nominees must have agreed to be put forward for the award. Any unsuccessful nominees from the previous year will also be re-considered.
Members of the public and councillors can have as many nominations as they wish.
The recipients of the awards, and their guests, will be invited to the Annual Mayor’s Day Civic Celebration at Todmorden Town Hall in May, when they will be presented with their certificates by the retiring Mayor of Todmorden, Councillor Michael Gill, in his final act as the town’s civic head.
Last year’s awardees were Todmorden in Bloom, and OAK, Todmorden.
