Twenty six Todmorden Harriers turned out in the first of this year’s club road championship races - the Meltham Tough 10K.
The route around the Huddersfield village was exposed and hilly and the chilly nature of the day was reflected in few runners competing in just the traditional vest and shorts.
Mel Blackhurst continued her fine form in 2015 as first counter for the Tod Ladies team, followed by Kath Brierley in a rare appearance on the roads.

Tod’s resident Aussie, Dwane Dixon, is also only an occasional competitor on tarmac. But he led the men’s team home in 16th place overall.
Richard Butterwick and Ben Crowther completed the counters in the men’s team.
At the back end of the field came Dave O’Neil and Myra Wells, demonstrating that the Todmorden Harriers club is open to runners of all abilities.
The winner was David Thompson of Barnsley AC in 37.28. The first female was Amy Green of Keighley and Craven, who was 31st in 41.57. There were 305 finishers:
