Hebden Bridge is full of inventive and creative people and newly established theatre company ‘Made It Theatre’ are adding themselves to the mix.
Their new play ‘Valedictory’ appears at the Hebden Bridge Little Theatre, Holme Street, next week.
Written by local writer Stephen Dodwell of Hebden Shorts fame, it deals with the topical debate of assisted dying and the agonising decisions a broken family will have to make.
Although a tough subject, the company hope to bring the audience honesty, hope and even humour.
The play is directed by Amanda Hennessy who co-established the 24:7 Theatre Festival and stars Sharon Kelly, Ann Brown and Stephen Dodwell.
“There is a real thirst for new writing in our town and people want to see moving and thought-provoking theatre,” says actor Ann Brown.
‘Valedictory’ appears alongside John Clarke’s new show ‘Midnight Sun’ which focuses on two very different women’s lives and the new journeys they are about to begin.
“I wanted to write something that could be very free and open to interpretation,” says John.
Directed by Holly Mazur who has worked at Contact and Manchester’s Royal Exchange, the play stars Caroline Vella and Lulia Togara. You can catch these shows at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre on March 13 and 14 at 7.30pm for an evening of exciting new theatre.
