There’s a new Stone Age family on the block, ready to show The Flintstones how to make it big in the world with a little help from DreamWorks Animation.

Meet The Croods, a prehistoric computer-animated family adventure for the 21st century cartoon-aholic.

As usual with these spectacular and colourful 3D comedy capers, big-name stars are queuing up to voice the crazy characters.

The Croods (U), showing at Hebden Bridge Picture House from tomorrow until Sunday, April 14 (1.30pm) is the perfect Easter fodder for families who’ve already had their fill of chocolate eggs and need to burn off the calories with some serious chortling.

It’s the story of the world’s first family road trip as patriarch Grug (Nicolas Cage) leads his brood into strange and spectacular territory in search of a new home when their cave is destroyed.

Opening tomorrow is creepy Gothic thriller Stoker (18), starring Nicole Kidman (until Sunday, 7.45pm) while Robot and Frank (12A), is programmed for Sunday (4.30pm), Monday and Tuesday (7.45pm).

Ken Loach movie The Spirit of ‘45 (U), is on Wednesday (7.45pm) and Thursday (10.30am and 7.45pm) while tonight sees a mountain bike film night (doors 6.30pm).
