A CHARITY concert is to be held to raise money for victims of the Calder Valley floods.
Arrangements were already under way before this week’s deluge but the damage it caused has given the event fresh significance.
The concert will be held at St Michael’s Church Hall, Mytholmroyd, on the afternoon and evening of Saturday, August 18.
Eric Alston, chairman of the St Michael’s Amateurs, said the event had the support of Royd Regeneration and would feature music, instrumental and comedy acts.
Anyone who would like to help on or off stage is invited to a rehearsal at the hall at 2pm on Sunday.
Concert-goers will be asked to make a minimum donation of £5 and tickets can be obtained from society members or by telephoning 01422 883911. Raffle prizes and donations can be sent to St Michael’s Amateurs, c/o Mytholmroyd Enterprise Centre.
