Ferney Lee School supported Macmillan’s “Get Up And Dance” charity event by producing their very own musical showcase for parents, staff and friends.
It consisted of recorders, violins, samba drumming, a choir, solo performances on guitar and piano, duetting songwriters, and two of the children showing the audience how to dance the cha-cha to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean!
The rest of the school had been busy practising dance routines to music of their choice. Key Stage 2 line danced to Cotton Eye Joe, reception class children with puppy dog ears and black noses, panted and wagged to the beat of Who Let The Dogs Out? and Key stage 1 freestyled to Dynamite by Taio Cruz.
A spokesman said: “We like to support this charity because we feel that many of us know or care for someone who has cancer.
“We have all heard of the terrific support and care Macmillan provides to patients and their families. All the children who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the parents loved it!” The school raised around £200.
