Walsden C&FC will be looking to build on their first win of the Rochdale Alliance season when they host Whitworth Valley at the Rec. on Saturday (2pm).
Walsden, who are still gelling as a new team this season, got their campaign up and running with a 3-1 success over Star Athletic last week.
The visitors were late arriving and it was almost too dark to play by the time the referee blew for full time.
Star made most of the early running but were unable to find a way past ‘keeper Jamie Shackleton.
Paul Marrow eventually broke the deadlock in the second half only for Star to level.
Walsden sealed the points with Danny Brown netting at the near post leaving Joe Gale to add the third at the far post.
