After the success of last year’s production of Les Miserables, the Todmorden Hippodrome Youth Theatre (HYT) are back again with award winning musical Hairspray.

Award-winning musical director Helen Clarkson - winner of the ‘Best Musical Director of a Youth Musical in the North West’ NODA award for Les Mis with HYT in 2013 - is returning to lead the talented cast with Martin Cook, Alexandra Townend and Lisa Parker.

The dedicated cast of 11-19 year olds have been practicing every step in their repertoire over the summer holidays, and will be working hard these next couple of months to welcome you to the 60s.

Jump and jive to the Todmorden Hippodrome Theatre, Halifax Road, this November 18 to 22 to support the “nicest kids in town.”

Last year’s show was a sell-out success, so it’s advisable to snap up tickets quickly. Indeed, this all-time favourite musical is selling out fast, so be sure not to miss out.

You can call our box office on 0333 666 3366 or buy your tickets online at www.todip.ticketsource.co.uk. You can follow the progress of their rehearsals by following the theatre group on twitter @todhip

- Todmorden Hippodrome is inviting everyone to an open get together at the Halifax Road theatre on September 19 (7.15pm).

It will be an informal evening. Whether you’re already a member or are just thinking about joining, everybody is welcome.

The bar will be open, for social contemplation and refreshment.

If you are interested in becoming a cast member in the theatre’s special musical revival of The Addams Family, you can find more details at the Hippodrome website http://www.todhip.org/addams-family-auditions

There are roles available for both young and old and the webpage also gives a complete overview of the characters, including their musical style.

Auditions for the show will be held from October 11 and this spooky symphony will be showcasing at ‘the Hip’ in April 2015.

A spokesman for the theatre said: “Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to meet the Hippodrome family, and the producers.

“This is an especially good chance to work alongside a strong and experienced team, if you are new to the world of stage and satire, and want to test your vocal limits of spookdom, in a horror musical that will change your perceptions of the supernatural.”
